The Press Conference for EAP Malta International Competition was held on Tuesday 30th April, at BluBay Suites by ST Hotels.
Pembroke Athleta Athletics & Triathlon President, Mr. Victor Camilleri, EAP Malta Organising Committee Chairperson, Mr. Norman Saliba, and MTA (Malta Tourism Authority) Executive Chairman, Dr. Gavin Gulia addressed the media present.
Dr.Gavin Gulia praised the work done by EAP Malta Organising Committee, to put Malta on the EAP circuit (European Athletics Promotion Circuit). This means that EAP Malta organising committee shall be inviting international athletes to our Maltese Islands, for this yearly appointment. Such sports events, undoubtedly, boost sports tourism and general tourism in Malta.
For the first edition of EAP Malta, the organising committee is seeing the participation of 142 local track and field athletes, and is proudly welcoming over 55 athletes from 17 different countries, to reach over 200 athletes as a total number of participants.
