Gina McNamara & Jared Micallef Named ATHLETES OF THE YEAR 2025

Pembroke Athleta athletes have once again confirmed their dominance on the Maltese athletics scene, with an outstanding 30 athletes collectively claiming 40 national athletics awards for 2025. The top honours go to Gina McNamara and Jared Micallef, who have been crowned Female and Male Athletes of the Year respectively. The awards will be presented at the end of November.


McNamara also secured the Senior Female Middle & Long Distance awards, while Micallef took the Senior Male Middle Distance title — further highlighting their remarkable consistency and excellence throughout the season.


The awards list, published by Athletics Malta, recognises athletes from Pembroke Athleta across all age categories — from Under 14 to Masters — underlining the Club’s strength in nurturing talent at every level.
