This afternoon, 39 talented athletes from the Pembroke Athletics Club embarked on an exciting journey to Brno, Czech Republic, to compete in the 2024 European Kids Athletics Games (EKAG). This dynamic team, full of energy and determination, is set to represent the Club on an international stage, where they will showcase their athletic prowess and sportsmanship alongside some of Europe’s most promising young talents.
The athletes will be accompanied by Club Officials and Coaches M. Micallef, L. Falzon, M. Ghigo, and T. Zammit, who will provide on-site guidance and support throughout the competition. Their presence ensures that the team has the necessary leadership and encouragement to perform at their best during this important event.
The competition, which runs from Saturday to Monday, will feature a variety of track and field events. Over the past months, the Pembroke athletes have been preparing rigorously for this moment under the expert guidance of their coaches, who have worked tirelessly to ensure the team is ready to compete at the highest level.
The European Kids Athletics Games offer a unique platform for our young athletes to gain valuable experience on the international circuit. It is an opportunity not only to compete at a high level but also to forge new friendships and build cultural connections with their peers from across Europe. Our athletes will proudly represent Malta, embodying the spirit of teamwork and excellence that these games promote.
We extend our best wishes to all our athletes and are confident they will make us proud with their efforts and sportsmanship, both on and off the field.
A heartfelt thank you to our supporters: Eurosport Malta, SportMalta, and Attrans International Transport Group, whose continued support has made this incredible journey possible.
