Pembroke Athleta is thrilled to announce a brilliant performance by Ritianne Zammit, who secured first place in the Żabbar 5 km race organised by La Salle AC, as part of the Athletics Malta Road Running League (RRL).
Ritianne crossed the line in a time of 18:38, beating the rest of the field. She was closely followed by her team-mate Lisa Marie Bezzina, who took second place — reinforcing Pembroke’s dominance in the women’s category.
The success was not limited to the top two: Pembroke’s women’s team was clearly the team to beat, with four of their athletes finishing in the top nine. Among them, Daniela Gatt completed the race in 8th place, and Danica Bonello Spiteri claimed 9th place.
On the men’s side, Mark Herrera delivered an impressive performance, finishing 4th overall (and 1st in the Over-40 category) with a time of 15:56. Meanwhile, Daniel Luke Spiteri distinguished himself by finishing as the first Under-18 athlete in the race.
This result underlines Pembroke Athleta’s strength and depth across all age categories, and demonstrates once more their commitment to excelling in both individual and team road-running competitions.
A huge congratulations to Ritianne, Lisa, Mark, Daniel, Daniela, and Danica for their exceptional performances — Pembroke is incredibly proud!
