RRL Maqluba – Pembroke Athletics leading again

Pembroke Athleta Athletics & Triathlon club was in front again in the second race of a series of MAAA road running league, which took place on Saturday afternoon 31st October.

As predicted, it was a fast race from start to finish. The combined effort of the team (first four), this time, Mark Herrera, Dario Mangion, Brian Magri and Luke Micallef kept the team on top. It was a good feat, having SIX Pembroke athletes in the first thirteen. Pembroke Athleta men’s team now stands on top of league table, with 46 points ahead of St. Patricks team and a total of 53 points ahead of third place Zurrieq Wolves.  We also have to take note of our leading female athlete, Lisa Bezzina, who commanded the race from start to finish. Now she is first on merit of the time gap compared to Rita Galea.

There is a huge two month gap in this MAAA Road Running League. The third race will take place in Qawra on 3rd January and the 4th race will take place at Ta’ Qali on 24th January 2016. Both races will be 10km long.

WE MUST BE THERE in full swing as we did in the first two 5k’s.

The club is proud of having such dedicated athletes and coaches. When it matters most, you find them there in front!
