Pembroke Athleta’s young athletes made an impressive mark on the first day of this year’s Cross Country League, securing several victories and top placements across various age categories.
Victories for Pembroke Athletes
Jake Vassallo and Jade Abela Damato dominated the 3km race (2009-10), securing first place in the boys’ and girls’ categories, respectively.
Sophie Cassar Torreggiani took the top spot in the 2km race (2011-12) for girls, showcasing her strength and determination.
In the 1km races (2013-14), Jack Herrera Rolé and Emily Vella crossed the finish line in first place for boys and girls.
Iker Azzopardi clinched victory in the 500m race (2015-16), setting the pace for the youngest age group.
